Library of Things

How it works

Discover the convenience of Bristol and South Gloucestershire’s Library of Things, offering a diverse array of items for borrowing.

From tools for your next DIY project to recreational gear for family outings, and even unique party supplies like a chocolate fountain, our Library of Things has it all.

Say goodbye to unnecessary purchases and hello to affordability and accessibility.

Unlock a world of possibilities without breaking the bank. Whether you’re in need of a drill, tent or specialised equipment, our community-driven charity is here to meet your needs.

Why buy when you can borrow? As a member you can borrow anything from our Library of Things for free and become part of promoting sustainability and community sharing.

Visit us at Share Bristol Kingswood, 1-5 High Street, Kingswood, BS15 4AA on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (variable times) and at Share Bristol Bedminster, 47-49 East Street, Bedminster, BS3 4HB (opening times and days to be confirmed).

Donations welcome

Share Bristol is a registered charity committed to making the world a better place. We’re always on the lookout for donations of time, items to lend, and, of course, much-needed funds to support our work.

If you are able to make a donation, of any size, this will go towards helping Share Bristol deliver the Library of Things service in our local community – running our existing Libraries and setting up new ones around Bristol so more people can benefit.

I have used so many items from the library of things, mostly DIY and garden tools but there is so much more! Staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend a membership to anyone who needs things but doesn't want to store, maintain or buy those things.

Fantasically simple transaction. We borrowed a tile cutter, which probably would have cost £100s if rented. Great idea

We love the share library so much! Everyone is really friendly & helpful, and there's an amazing selection of things - all for free once you've paid your £50 annual membership (which is nothing considering how much we have saved in our first year by borrowing!).

Such a great initiative! I signed up for an annual membership which costs £50 and have already hired out a lawnmower and strimmer which would easily have cost four times the price of that membership, plus they're not permanently taking up space in my garage! Volunteers were very friendly and helpful, couldn't recommend more!
